This is my custom lifespan. It is heavily based on The Sims 3 style aging mod which reflects the normal lifespan setting in The Sims 3. I just tweaked it slightly to my taste by shortening the toddler stage, reverting the way additional days work in the Elder life stage back to the same as Maxis, and fixed the process hour to actually be 12 instead of 6 as described. So, its not based on real life years or anything like that. The lifestage lengths are as follows:
Baby: 3 days
Toddler: 5 days
Child: 7 days
Teen: 14 days
Adult: 42 days
Elder: 16+ days
Total: 87+ Days
An important note is that this mod makes sims age at midnight instead of 6pm, so you get the whole day on their birthday! Do not use this mod with any mod that changes the time pets age to midnight, instead use Pets Age with Sims.
If you want this or any custom aging system to affect premade sims, use Lazy Duchess' Smart Age Correct.
I use this with a mod that makes college last 16 days instead of 24 so since in Sims 3 the Young Adult stage is 21 days and the Adult stage is also 21 days making 42 total, the adult stage should technically be 26 days (42 - 16) but having played with this long adult life stage for some time, I couldn't imagine making it any shorter than 42 days! In my opinion, a long adult lifestage helps avoid the urge of wanting to restart a neighborhood as often.
This mod only affects sims and not pets because I personally think the maxis pet lifespan is perfect in conjunction with this mod.
